Saturday January 23 – Stage 5 – MacLaren Vale – Willunga Hill
» 7.30am – The Velo Precinct a la carte breakfast and coffee where you’ll receive your exclusive Stuart O’Grady Cycling jersey and bib-knicks.
» 8.30am – Ride together from Adelaide to Penny’s Hill winery near Willunga (approximately 50km). Dedicated support vehicle with mechanic following the group.
» 10.15am – Arrive at McLaren Vale to meet with Pro Tour riders & watch the stage start. We’ll catch up with some of my old team mates, team directors and get the inside scoop on the teams tactics for the stage ahead.
» 11.15am – Enjoy food & drinks for the entire stage from the Penny’s Hill Marquee where the race goes directly past 5 times throughout the stage. There will also be TV’s to watch the race LIVE, fans to keep you cool and a few interviews to keep you entertained. I will also be getting up and having a talk about life as a pro cyclist and what you need to do to win the TDU, plus anything else you want to ask!
Jump in the Helicopter & take in a 10minute ride, getting a birds eye view of the race underneath you, taking in the peloton, coastline & winery.
Now for the really unique experience…
I have organised to take each guest for a lap in a Pro Tour Team car for an entire lap of the Willunga Hill loop, taking in the crowds and the race from the best seat in the house.(max 2 people per car)
Witness first hand how a European Pro Team works during the race and the crowds on Willing Hill going crazy!
» 4pm – You have the option of riding or driving back to Adelaide. If you’ve eaten too much over the day , jump in the car and get driven home, or if you feel like burning off lunch, join me for the ride back to Adelaide.
» 6pm – Farewell drink & Time to say Au Revóir!
